Get the Most From Your Doctor’s Visits
Being prepared for your doctor’s visits will
help you get your money’s worth—and
avoid repeat trips to the office. Bring a
list of questions or concerns you have for
the doctor. Let him or her know if a recent
prescription change didn’t seem to work, for
instance, or that a certain lifestyle change has
been difficult to make. While you’re there, be
sure to ask your doctor for a schedule of his
or her in-office fees—the same goes for
free-standing labs and pharmacies, too.
Also, know your health history. Doing
so can serve as a tool you and your doctor
can use to find the best treatments.
Keep a written record of current medical
conditions, past medical procedures,
immunization history, drug allergies, and
current medications you’re taking.
