Officials at Dean Medical Center have broken ground for a 145,000- square-foot outpatient care facility at Highway 51 and Buckeye Rd., in Madison. “This project is in response to the growing health care needs of east Madison and indeed all of eastern Dane County,” says Kevin Hayden, Dean Medical Center president and chief administrative officer.
The $20 million, four-level facility will reflect Dean’s commitment to provide the highest level of patient-focused customer service and offer a full range of primary, specialty and urgent care. A centralized reception area and registration by floor, expanded clinic hours and a resource center with access to health education and wellness information are among the services that will be incorporated into the design.
Services currently offered at East Madison Clinic, Arcand Park Clinic, Princeton Therapy Services and McFarland Clinic will be consolidated into the new facility. The new clinic is targeted for opening in early 2004. “Approximately 75 physicians and 250 employees will provide care in 17 different specialties,” adds Hayden. “By providing a variety of primary and specialty services within a regional system of care, patients will be able to have the majority of their health care services under one roof.”
