Chickenpox Vaccine Update

Photo of a young girlIt is back-to-school time. Did you know that a new state law went into effect on June 1, 2001, regarding the chickenpox vaccine? That law states that children ages 2 to 6 who are entering kindergarten, day care or preschool must be vaccinated against chickenpox or have documented evidence of already having had chickenpox, or have a signed parental decline of the chickenpox vaccination.

Here is a list of all the required immunizations for the 2002 to 2003 school year. If you have any questions about what shots your child needs, call his or her doctor or Dean Health Plan.
