At Dean Health Plan, we evaluate new medical devices, new technologies and new uses for old procedures. We also evaluate new medications regularly.
A team of Dean Health Plan doctors is responsible for the initial evaluation. This team reviews published information and requests input from network doctors and other health care providers as appropriate. Health care experts in the Dean organization then review this information. If the new technology passes all of these checks, we may change or add benefit determinations to reflect the value of the new procedure, device or medication.
