Dean Health Plan Updates

And the Survey Says

Photo of a woman and a toddlerDean Health Plan would like to thank all our members who participated in our 2002 Member Satisfaction Survey.

This survey gives members the chance to rate the service of our staff and practitioners and helps us identify areas that need to be improved. It also helps us continue to improve the quality of the products and services we provide.

Overall, the results of the 2002 member survey show Dean Health Plan member satisfaction ratings are in the 90th percentile compared nationally with other health plans. In fact, Dean Health Plan ranks in the top 15 health plans nationwide for member satisfaction.

Some of the highlights of the survey included:

  • 97 percent of our members reported that their doctors usually or always treated them with courtesy and respect.
  • 95 percent of our members reported that the clinic staff were usually or always as helpful as they thought they should be.
  • 94 percent of our members reported that their doctors usually or always listened carefully to them.

Some members expressed concern regarding:

  • Appointment wait time
  • Financial responsibility

Dean Health Plan is looking carefully at these issues to identify priorities for making improvements. We will continue to survey members and ask for comments and suggestions so that we can focus our efforts on improvement. Your response to us is important. Thank you for helping us become a better health care organization.
