Members Talk About Dean On Call

Photo of a woman talking on the phoneSince October 1996, Dean On Call has been a free-service, nurse-staffed telephone health advice line you can call for immediate answers to questions about your health.

Dean On Call does not replace care from your doctor, but it does offer advice on topics from treating problems at home to when you should see a doctor. In our six years of service, we’ve received many compliments from appreciative members. Here are just a few of them:

"I am so grateful for the service. We have a baby boy, and it is reassuring to be able to call with questions before racing to the clinic or hospital when he is ill."

"I am very thankful for this service. I absolutely needed to talk to a professional to get me through a very bad period when no other help was available."

"I think that it is a very important and viable service. It is great to know that I can call first and get information so that I can make a good, informed decision on whether or not to go to the emergency room or just to schedule an appointment to see the doctor. It really helps!"

"The nurses gave me advice on whether I needed urgent or emergency care. They saved me time and money. Thank you. You all do a great job."

"I love Dean On Call. I call when I can’t get to my doctor’s nurse or after hours. They are so nice and never make your problem seem little or not worth their time. Don’t stop this program because it is so helpful always."

Whenever you need health advice, Dean On Call’s nurses are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. Just call 800-57-NURSE (800-576-8773).
