With Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida’s Personal Health Advisor®’ nurse line, free, confidential health care advice is just a phone call away anytime, day or night.

The experienced registered nurses who take your calls are backed by an information system developed by dozens of physicians and nurses to help assess the severity of your condition.

When you call, the nurses will ask you questions about your symptoms that help you to evaluate the situation and determine the best type of care for you — whether that’s the emergency room, your physician or a home remedy.

Many patients call Personal Health Advisor simply for reinforcement that they are doing the right thing and making the right decisions for their health care.

Besides having a registered nurse just a phone call away any time of the day or night, you also have a vast AudioHealth Library®’ at your fingertips.

A simple phone call to Personal Health Advisor’s toll-free number, 1-800-667-2546, puts you in touch with more than 450 different two- to five-minute recordings.

Each topic has a four-digit code. For a list of the topic codes, check your Personal Health Advisor AudioHealth Library Directory.

At the end of the recording, you can request literature available for most topics, repeat the topic, speak with a registered nurse or select a new topic.
